Illegal immigrants are getting money. Taxpayers are supplying that money because they have to.
And believe it or not, 10% of American citizens are covering 97% of the taxes, so with our current government, if illegal immigrants become citizens, our very left-sided government would severely pity them and give them a lot of money. Which they do already. And the citizens would be paying low to no taxes [which is why we're in so much debt]
Also, I'm not being "heartless". I'm being fair. Don't want to gain citizenship here? Don't expect to get anything. Don't want to work? You don't deserve anything. Want to work illegally? Get your **** deported. My ancestors worked hard to make a living and become citizens, and paid taxes, mortgages, etc. Why can't anyone else? No one "deserves" benefits. You earn them.

They "deserve" a chance to work as hard as your ancestors - who came the SAME way as they do. I know many illegal immigrants and they work harder than most loafers in the country.
"Don't want a work? You don't deserve anything" - "Want to work illegally? Get your **** deported"
That is hypocrisy. If someone works hard, they deserve the BENEFITS of their labor, not deportation.
I was not saying that people who don't work deserve benefits - because they don't. I am saying that those who come to this country should have a chance to make it just like any hard-working American.
America is the Land of Dreams built by the sweat and blood by immigrants.

I really don't see a direct correlation between how soldiers being in Afghanistan and Iraq protect me (in the US) from terror attacks. The US being involved in these wars just makes terror groups hate us more. Acts of terrorism really only take a handful of people to pull off, and I fail to see how troops occupying a country prohibit those terrorists from strapping bombs to themselves.

It's not like WWII, where Pearl Harbor was attacked by the GOVERNMENT of Japan, not some extremist group therein, so invading Japan made sense.

THat being said, of course I think the women and men in the military are brave and deserve our support. Hopefully they also deserve to not be blown up or shot full of holes by terrorists, and can come home soon.

I agree completely - I support my brother and all of his fellow soldiers however I think the war is horrifically unjust to the people living in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We need borders against Mexico because we have over 10mill illegal immigrants from there that are taking jobs Americans would LOVE to take, rather than being jobless
And they're taking jobs! They can become citizens. It's difficult, but worth it. Why should our taxpayers be forced to pay for them? I do pity them, but it's not the job of our hardworking citizens to give them a home.
And no one wants those jobs? Quite the contrary. There was an illegal immigrant bust at a ShopRite in New Mexico, I believe. Over 1000 immigrants were busted. ALL of those spots were filled THE SAME DAY. Don't give me that crap about no one wanting jobs.

Where did I say that no one wants jobs? I said nothing about "no one wanting jobs". By the way, if the citizenship laws were easier for them to pass THEY WOULD BE TAX-PAYING CITIZENS. So natural citizens wouldn't have to "give them a home" and be "forced to pay for them". Duh.

My family's been saying it for years- we need to close the borders.
I do support immigration, since that is how my ancestors got here and how so many people escaped awful problems in their homelands, but we are a bit too lenient.
All borders should be closed, and we should have a stronger defense against Mexico.
And Obama isn't really helping with any of the problems. He's apologizing to other countries for our country, and he's making us very vulnerable to such attacks. I assume you've heard of all the attempted attacks on Times Square? People are laughing at us.
You do have a point, though.

Why should we have a stronger defense against Mexico? Is that where the terrorists come from? All borders should not be closed because the US has the biggest double-standard for immigration. It is so easy for Europeans to immigrate here and get their citizenship whether it's temporary or naturalization. Immigrants from anywhere else, however, that are really trying to escape poverty and tyrannical governments have the WORST time in gaining citizenship so they have to live here illegally. So what they're taking your jobs at the factory - they work harder and for cheaper wages because they need it more to get a footing in the "Land of the Free".
Try stepping in the shoes of someone who has had it worse than you and then maybe you won't be so heartless.
