Born free? How do you figure. Nothing is free and freedom in the sense of our original founding fathers is no longer applicable in today's society. Our government is in direct conflict with and actively violating our freedoms, so even babies are not born free. Go through a divorce and you will find out in a hurry who actually owns your children. It isn't you.

I too believe life's meaning is what we make of it. And its true most people's loves are routines, but we can choose to not feel entitled and take solace in the fact that we are alive and well and smart enough to experience this routine

Before I make my point, I must say this made me chuckle in a good way.

These games are not meant to teach kids life lessons and only the greatest philosophy prodigy ever would like interpret them as such. These games are instinctual for humans. By that I mean all animals learn and play when they're young so as to teach basic survival skills. Having these types of games is natural, especially for weak omnivores like ourselves.

I was rather surprised by this. I would've thought with events that date back the beginning of the 20th century and the new millennia, violence would be at its highest. This does give me some optimism.

However, perhaps people often say that they've "lost faith in humanity" because we live in an age of advanced morality and diverse thinking, so when violence and vulgarity is committed, it seems more likely that the perpetrator consciously new he/she was doing something wrong.

I'm trying to say that too many intellects think they need to be doubtful in order to prove their intelligence. Real intellects are always willing to embrace new horizons

So if a large number of Americans rose up and decided to take their government and country back using any means possible (even force), they would be considered by the rest of the country and the government as terrorists - right?

Well, it's what you meant, but it's not what it means. I agree with what you meant, but not with what you said. I'll refrain from voting, hence.

Also, where did you hear that women's emotional parts of the brain are linked to the speech center but men's aren't?

Women's are more connected because it would allow for better child nurturing. That's my girls are more prone to expressing emotions and being sensitive than men

we're all human

the treatment, however, is definitely unequal in many cases

I agree. What I was thinking about was men and women think slightly differently because of natural brain neurology.

Modern capitalism has become immoral due to it overwhelming favoring towards the rich at the expense of the poor. But capitalism itself teaches the philosophy of working hard and being creative in order to make a better life for yourself. Capitalism would work better if it were more democratic and was less concerned with money. Although by that point it might not even be considered capitalism anymore, just as Chinese communism is no longer true communism.

The post is meant to tell of how emotions are difficult to manage and that we as people need to manage. Your comment was saying that I was implying that we shouldn't control our emotions

So you are saying that we should just run around and be a slave to our emotions?

Perhaps you are a particularly level-headed person, but I'd have murdered so many people and killed myself if I didn't learn to manage my responses to emotions.

You completely misread this post. I was saying that we need to better control our emotions, but that it's more often than not difficult

I used the word the same way you did. I honestly don't think I will remember the Boston Marathon in 20 years, I didn't know there was a marathon in the first place. And I don't see why I should, I don't know them, I don't know who died, I don't know the 140+ people injured and I've never been to Boston. I don't remember every bombing, mass murder attempt or things like that, it's not that I think it's stupid or whatever, I just don't think I need to remember that. Plus, this post is not something you can agree with, it's a command.

You should remember it because it's simple human kindness. Is it even really that hard to remember something. You can just be like "Oh yeah there was this bad bombing in Boston. I remember" in 20 years.

I do not believe that anybody has control of their sexuality. If you're gay, you can't change it, and you shouldn't suppress it, and same with straight people. Both characteristics (homophobia and racism) center around thinking you're better than someone because of something nobody can control. Being a certain race or being of a certain sexuality do not make you an inferior person, and it is equally wrong to believe so for either trait.

I'm assuming you mean "worse" as in "more morally wrong", not "having (or already having had) a worse impact on humanity", right?

In response to “I do not believe that anybody has control of...

Yes, but the fact remains that priests and others are able to not follow their baser instincts and can live happy lives. I believe sexuality is natural, beautiful, and important, but it is not without its responsibilities. One needs to be responsible with his or her sexuality, but not with their race. The only responsibility that comes with race is being careful not to sunburn.

When i say responsibilities, i'm talking in terms of not getting STI's and not impregnating someone.
