True evil is when someone can do something about an injustice, but doesn't. The person who causes may likely be scarred and may have good reason to drive them to such an extreme, while the many bystanders are just afraid to speak out against it. Such cowardice can often have less justification than the crime itself, Amirite?

That's not what i said. i said that someone who would stand by allowing a murder to happen will often have less justification for doing so than the murderer. A murderer would likely have been scarred by something that made them unstable, while the person who let it happen was probably just too scared to get involved. If that is the case, I believe the bystander isn't as justified, and is therefore worse

I see what you are saying, since most people who murder do have something wrong mentally, I just don't see how that justifies a murder more versus someone being afraid to step in to help. Maybe I'm just hopelessly lost....
But then again, we are talking about murders which are at the extreme end of situations to which this applies. I agree that this applies in less extreme situations

So if someone is witnessing a murder happen, they are automatically worse than the person taking a life because they are afraid? I understand that in some cases this definitely applies, but fear is not equivalent to true evil.

It's interesting to consider: What would we be doing in our everyday lives if there were no televisions or computers?

Well, I guess you could ask your grandparents what they did with their time to get a good idea

Life would be so much simpler if our bodies gauged how full they were by the calories consumed and not the actual amount eaten, amirite?

I think the perfect system would be able to eat healthy, but get full when your body has gotten the calories it needed. Including how many carbs, fats, protein, etc. What would be really cool is if we were able to eat junk food on the side, and only consume the nutrients (though little) and calories that we need for our bodies.

Depends...do they also use the amount of protein, carbohydrates, Omega 3, etc consumed to determine if they are full?

Hmmm... I hadn't really gotten that far! I would like to think that all of those factors would be included as well.
Don't high-calorie foods typically have higher fat and carbohydrates? Of course not all foods are like that but it seems like there's a correlation....
I have no idea where I'm going with this but long story short, I guess there WOULD have to be some sort of protein/fat/carbohydrate contribution in there

The way we live our lives today would seem very strange to Neanderthals and other earlier humans. Because they lived based on an instinct to survive, all the extra stuff that's practically necessary in modern life (think phones, indoor plumbing, etc.) would seem really silly to them. Kind of an interesting way to think about the stupid stuff we see as essential, amirite?
32 Comments +101 / 95%
I don't think they would regard our things as "silly".... They would be more impressed over anything if you ask me

Losing your virginity at 16 is not a bad thing if you are properly prepared (birth control, condoms), are aware of the possible consequences, and are mature enough to talk about it with your partner. If I decide to have sex, it shouldn't be considered horrible, amirite?

I feel like sometimes I have OCD.... I will check the lock on the door 7 or 8 times to make sure I really locked it. And I'll check my alarm clock at least 10 times to make sure I set my alarm for the morning.... But those are the only two things I really do so I don't believe it really is OCD, just my paranoid self
