The sad thing about Christmas is just how fake it all is. Santa isn't real, it's not actually Jesus' birthday, and the whole story about him may not even be true. All the charity and kindness is something we do once a year to ease our guilt for the selfish bastards we are the rest of the year. The presents are because we get suckered by companies trying to make a profit. Worst part is we all know this yet we just pretend that there's something special and magical about this day, amirite?

It's rude to tell someone that you think they are fat but once they lose the weight it somehow becomes ok to tell them how fat they were before they lost weight and it doesn't seem like an insult.

A lot of people are talking about the shooting in Newtown like gun control alone would have stopped it. They could be right, but I think this is a more complex issue than that. If someone put a gun in my hands right now, I would not shoot anyone, because I have no reason to do so. I think shootings and other such gun-related violence are issues for which, when trying to resolve them, we need to take into account not only the "how," but also the "why," amirite?

Children are a reflection of their parents, and of what their parents teach them. When a child misbehaves, it's a negative reflection of their parents. Therefore, I think that when a child misbehaves, the parents should be punished too. Maybe then all the sorry, lazy parents out there would step up and start taking responsibility for how their children act!
