+237 When I want to listen to good music, I listen to rock/metal. When I want to laugh at people's musical ability, I listen to rap. Amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess you don't appreciate music huh?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just admit it, 90% of rap/hip hop takes no musical talent whatsoever.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

exactly

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Contemporary hip hop yes.. but 90's hip hop was effin awesome. Run DMC ftw!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

THANK GOODNESS SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

90s hip hop was the shit!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well my problem is with most people not being willing to at least acknowledge that 10%.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some rap is good. Most of it just people talking fast with random words.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rapping is harder than you think. Most people couldn't rap if they tried. Maybe it doesn't take vocal talent, but it definately takes some kind of talent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok agreed but making rock/heavy metal music is definitely no easy task when you need all 4 basic elements (drums, singing, guitar and base) to combine together.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All you need for rock or heavy metal is a group of good musicians and a singer or someone who can yell in tune. Making music isn't that hard if you have a natural talent for it. I have 3 friends (a percussionist, bassist, and guitarist) that when they get together they make great music. They only hard part is coming up with lyrics. I also have friends who only need a beat and they can rap. The difficulty level of writing any music comes from the amount of talent involved.

I think some underground rap is pretty nice, but the mainstream stuff is kind of annoying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Talking does not require talent

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Talking in front of large groups of people requires some talent. I can't do it very well.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe you have a phobia or something but going by your logic everybody who ever did something on tv or on a stage has talent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only the people who are good at it, I mean to say.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rap isn't talking, its better than that, for example listen to "Gettin Jiggy WIt it" By Will Smith

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's not what music is about, it's about expression. These rap artists obviously express something of meaning to a lot of people, or they wouldn't be making money.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Justin Bieber also makes money and im sure he doesn't express a lot with BABY BABY BABY OOH and autotune

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Alright. I'll be on the lookout for a rapper named "A-fizzle." If you think it's easy, you must be able to do it yourself, right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The really good rappers are the ones you don't here about because they don't attract mainstream radio stations

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Metal is good music?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

nopee. I don't think rap is either.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'll be the first to admit I prefer alternative, post hardcore, rock, and punk. However, all rap isn't bad. Just like alot of rap is bad, alot of metal is bad. Metal's instrument playing tends to be genius, but alot of times the vocals are shit. Rap tends to be repetitive, but alot of times it can have some powerful lyrics. I don't like when people lump entire genres together. Somewhere, in that genre there is a song that you can appreciate. I don't much listen to country, but there are some country songs that hit it on the nail for me. If you don't at least try to delve into a genre, that might has more potential than you realize, you can't really appreciate music as a whole.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

eminem is the only rapper worth listening to.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

can't leave out tech n9ne.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

or Vinillia Ice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I had no idea tuneless guitar playing with a bit of drums and some screaming is music? I really hate metal music. I don't like rap, but you've got to admit, rap sometimes has powerful meanings behind it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay not meaning to offend you or anything but tuneless guitar ? a bit of guitar ? screaming ? you have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about here. Even though I'm more into rock and roll and less metal, metal is NOTHING like this. Get your facts straight before you post stuff like this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know I've got my facts straight, my brother plays it through the house every day. It's so annoying!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe he is not very good then :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh sorry, I explained that wrong hahah. He plays cds of it. But he goes for more death/black metal.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh allright. Just for future reference death/black metal = very very very different from tradional metal, heavy metal music. Not all metal is the same. Rock and roll is the best :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I see no point in you debating over which type of music is better. music is made to make you feel happy sad let some anger out etc. i like all type of music. and i see where some of you are coming from but how your saying rap is bad thats your feeling of it but i dont see why your listen to it just so you can insult and. and you have to itmit metal music sometimes isnt the greatest thing in the world. sometimes you dont even understand what they are saying. the point is stop debating and trying to get people to hate rap .
