+437 Rather a nice nerd than a "popular" jock, amirite?

Because popular means you're not nice, right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, it doesn't necessarily mean that, because you could be popular with a lot of people because you're nice, but I'm talking about those jerks who think they can get away with everything and anything they want.

Real popularity would imply being a nice person; high school/jr high popularity doesn't usually come from anything but looks, money, and/or athletic talent... none of which means "nice".

dude, why is it people think that anyone who's popular or good looking is automatically mean and snobby? my friend esme, everyone obsesses over her, she has at least 3 guys wanting to date her at all times, and shes insanely pretty. but she's still the nicest most liberal (in the non political sense of the word) person i know.

I don't get why people are assuming that I'm refferring to the meaning of popularity in its entirety. I never said anything about that. Like I said in the first comment, it only applies to the jerks that think they can get away with anything they want, NOT all of the people who are popular because they're nice. Thus the quotations around "popular".
