Actually, they've been trying very hard to stop the leak, and they've exhausted everything they know in order to stop it, but nothing humanly possible exists in order to stop it yet.
I certainly don't think the BP wanted or expected this, and it's my understanding that the US Government has taken over control of the clean up. BP can only do what the governmnet allows them to do and when the government allows . And I think we all know how long that can take.
Boycotting bp is a retarded idea because most bp gas stations are privately owned. So it would only hurt small business men and women who had nothing at all to do with the oil spill.
