but still with a magnet you would have to go through layer by layer to get the needle, unless you have an insanely strong magnet :)

That would be a good idea, except metal needles would melt.

What if you melt the metal..?
And the ashes would pretty much camouflage the needle.
You should try this out, the comment back and see how it works out.

It matters what kind of material the needle was made out of. This would work with a bone needle, for sure.

@A needle is metal. Try to burn metal.

er actually i did try to burn a needle once on a lighted candle for a project, it doesnt burn to ashes but becomes really black..black and crooked...
