-67 The world did come with an instruction manual—the Bible. Everything's in there and it's not as ridiculous as some religions make it seem. Amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lev 18:22-23 "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Lev 20:13 "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death." 1 Cor 6:9 "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals" 1 Tim 1:9-10 "realizing the fact that (civil) law is not made for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers" Great instruction book.

oh it's great! I mean, really awesome job. (notice the sarcasm oozing out of the computer)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you clearly know your bible...now maybe what if it's right? :o

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Come now. Why would you write an "instruction manual" for the world if it treats groups of people like absolute shit. Sounds like one crappy manual if you ask me.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

It is approximately exactly as ridiculous as people make it sound.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Word.it has everything americans should live by and we'd be a great country!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

'MURICA. LAND OF THE FREE. GUNS AND DISCRIMINATION, GOD BLESS THE USA.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Almost as ridiculous as mispelling RIDICULOUS.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

misspelling*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Touche.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes we should live by it as it was meant to be, understanding that it was wrote to a people thousands of years ago. So yeah apply the guidelines to your life where applicable.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am amazed at how often critics of The Bible cite the Mosaic laws as proof that we should take the entire Bible for granted. You clearly do not understand the purpose of The Law at all.

Freethinkers are the spawn of the devil!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bwhahahahahhaahhaha! I'm a thinker!

by Anonymous 10 years ago

The world didn't "come" with this book. It was made by humans to mold the rest of humanity to their ideals.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it was written by God working through humans

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Here's a question for you; Is there any evident proof that God is real?

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Really? God never told me that.

by Anonymous 8 years ago

Hahaha what a joke. It says slavery, racism, sexism, and homophobia are okay. What kind of asshole lives by that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, it doesn't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uh yeah it does. Have you read it cover to cover?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(PoliticalTeen.): Uhm, have you read it from cover to cover?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've read enough to know that yes, the bible is filled with hate.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

HA. There isn't an instruction manual for the world.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This novel, and yes I'm referring to it as a work of fiction for the moment, was written approximately 2000 years ago. There were people and societies that functioned quite well before that, think the Roman Empire relied on the Bible as its manual? I laud those who are secure in their beliefs and truly feel that the Bible is law and God is great, but I just cannot take something as "the word of God" when it's been proven that Bible's were left out, ignored and possibly destroyed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmmm... Care to remind me what happened to the Roman empire?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Shall we remind you about the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages? How corrupt it was, with the pope and priests sleeping around and selling "tickets to heaven?" Also, the Roman empire was not the only empire in the entire world to end. Every golden age has declined and ended or will decline and end. It's like a book: you can't say it's necessary for a book to be about, say, unicorns and support that idea with the fact that a book that wasn't about unicorns ended. Every book ends.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Cath...): I know, I believe the old Catholic church was corrupt as well, I just found it ironic that "Anonymous" was using for an example an empire that collapsed and was overrun by a horde of barbarians.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guys i wasn't referring to the new testament. I won't go so far as to put it down but i'm jewish so i don't believe in that. The original bible, or our torah, doesn't say any of that. It teaches us tolerance and love for all god's creations. I'm not fanatically religious (yet) but ever since becoming religious i've been a happier person, quit smoking, stopped taking my meds, got a job, a car, a life, etc. I'm not saying religion's for everyone i'm just asking you to maybe not be so quit to bash something you never fully inquired into....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are a few refferences that okay racism, sexism, slavery, and homophobia in the Old Testament.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well if that works for you, and you're happy believing the Bible/Torah, and it's improved your life, then good for you! :) I won't try and stop you from living how you want to, even though personally, I don't like or believe the Bible at all, either of the Testaments.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Bible is an INTERPRETATION of God's word. To take it literal is to say that homophobia, sexism, racism, slavery, and slaughtering of those who don't agree are just fine. Given, I believe in God and that Jesus is the savior. But The Bible says way too many illogical and contradicting things. And plus other religions say the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OH MY GOD ENOUGH ALREADY! Don't you all see that these religion posts need to stop?! We are NEVER all going to agree on the same thing! Atheists are always gonna bash Christians for "bashing" them, and the Bible will always be "fiction" to some. Alright?! SO ENOUGH! Btw, I am a Catholic but I've never actually read the entire Bible so I can't vote on this =]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe in treating others as you'd like to be treated :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What about all the other religious texts besides the Bible? Arrogant Christians, c'mon now. I'm atheist so none of it matters to me anyways haha.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How exactly are we arrogant? I mean, Christians specifically?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe he/she is implying that because Christianity has the largest religious population, Christians think they're the best. Also, the opinion DID state the bible was life's instruction manual. I think it's stupid to assume a Christian posted that, though. Considering Christians aren't the only ones who follow the Bible...

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Ugggg! Why can't you people just be tolerant of each other!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok please don't post this on sites that lots of different ppl go to. for me it would be the Qur'an

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i'd like to point out that christianity and many other religions for that matter have caused most of the worlds greatest wars and killed many more people than they have "saved"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

religious extremists caused the war and killed people... there are very few religions that actually tell people to go to war with each other lol

http://www.humanistsofutah.org/2002/WhyCantIOwnACanadian_10-02.html Read it and learn.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

really? The Bible is the world's instructional manual? I find that hard to believe. We have our own instructions. We choose what we want to do, not let somebody else do it for us.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OK, this has gone on wayyy too long. I believe in the Bible, and I have read it cover to cover. The bible is a good thing, and I believe that it is an instruction manual for our lives. Now, I'm not going to preach at you atheists/agnostics, but I really believe that you are wrong. Most atheists I've encountered have concluded their opinions based on the worst times in Christian history or based on hypocrites in the church. What you are basing your belief or "non-belief" on are the worst examples of un-Christian behaviors.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

AHEM. I am Atheist, and I don't know crap about Christians. Most Atheists just find it hard to believe that a supernatural being that created all of mankind is dancing up in the sky watching over us. I believe you are most likely referring to Agnostics, as Atheists simply don't believe in God. And how in the Hell is the Bible a good thing? At least, how is all of it a good thing? People allow themselves to be controlled by it, believing that whatever a book says (That was written by regular people, none the less) is true and should be enforced. Yeah, because racism, homophobia, and slavery should TOTALLY be accepted in our modern world. Great job.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

The world has been around a lot longer than the bible has been. So, no the world didn't come with an instruction manual.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Technically, yes, the earth had existed a while before the bible was written. However, it is because humans screwed up that we have the bible. We all should just face it, humanity kinda fails on its own.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the world's gotten worse because of the Bible...

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Hah! Yeah right. The bible was just written by a bunch of guys over one million years ago. The Bible probably does have some good stuff in there, but don't forget all the other crap. I'm doing just fine and I'm an Atheist. I'll write my own damn instruction manual.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

A book from humans (I should instantly trust them) who were supposedly influenced by a Holy Spirit I've never seen that is at the same time god, who I've also never seen any evidence of.... Yup seems like the truth.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

Lol following an old book will doom society.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

No...just, no....
