It's not a saxophone violin! It's an Eb (E flat) alto violin. I only play with the alto saxophones because of the way my violin's tuned.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Lol what? What's the tuning of your strings?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I'm not sure exactly, but it's tuned to play with Eb alto saxophones. I also have a Bb violin, and I can use that to play in tune with the clarinets. It's odd, but it's true.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Really, you shouldn't have to do that lol, because string instruments like violins can just play all kinds of scales; it's not like they're in a certain key.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I dunno. I used to just play classical, so I'm used to a B being one finger on the A string and a G being two fingers on the E string and stuff like that. With a new violin, a G would still be two fingers on the E string, it just would come out different. It's so I don't have to relearn a whole new set of notes. Also, the classical violin is pitched a lot higher than a clarinet or a saxophone, so there's also trouble there.

GO CLARIETS!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Clarinets get a bad rep, and it makes me sad.

by Anonymous 14 years ago
