+223 The fact that a teenager got into an accident should not immediately suggest that the teen was driving drunk, amirite?

But aren't the majority of car crashes from drunk driving anyway? So wouldn't it be safe to assume that it was drunk driving? (I have no background info on this so don't flame)

I don't think they are. Maybe at night time, but I don't think in general.

Okay, so according to this: http://www.sacramentocaraccidentlawyerblog.com/2008/07/the_6_most_common_causes_of_ca.html it's the 3rd most common reason for a car crash. Case solved.

Most likely the other party was also a teen and that teen was drunk.

I got hit by a car in the high school parking lot when I was a freshman. The school resource officer came out and, after seeing that I was shaking and being held upright by some concerned bystanders, decided it would be a good idea to grab me by the arm and shake me while asking "what stupid thing" I'd been doing. Fuck the police.

I thought that when teenagers wrecked the first accusation that people hurl around is that they were texting and driving?
