You still have no idea what p.u. actually stands for. amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Although... I heard somewhere once that it's an abbreviation of some latin word that starts with pu and means "to stink."
by Anonymous13 years ago
At least tell us what it stands for.... or do you not no what it really means?=D

Wikepiedia says...
P.U. is a stylized abbreviation that stands for the sound of disgust ("pew!" or "pee-you!") that one might say upon smelling something rotten. Also, when pronounced with a long "oo" (as in Winnie-the-Pooh, Harpoon, poontang, and other words with a long "oo" such as completely random proper nouns like Punakha) it sounds like "poo", a slang term for feces, which has a disgusting smell.

Why thankyou! =D

I have never seen winnie the pooh and poontang in the same sentence. xD

I think that when plutonium was first discovered, it apparently smelled bad, and its chemical symbol, Pu, was associated with unpleasant odors.

I find yours the most acceptable of all the answers.

Pu is the chemical abbreviation for Plutonium, and that element wasn't discovered until 1940. I've seen it said in really old cartoons, I'm not sure how good of a joke that would have been back in the day.

I just searched "pee-you" on google, some funny results lol
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's just the long way to emphasise saying "Pew" in disgust.
Like when you want to emphasise "No" and say "No-ah".
