+471 Just because I am Pro-Choice doesnt mean I am Anti-Life, amirite?

THANK YOU. So many people jump to conclusions when I tell them that I'm pro-choice. Obviously, I would rather the child live, but that's not my decision to make; it's the woman's.

it annoys the hell out of me when people refer to pro-choice as being a murderer.

Yeah it does... fucking baby killer.

Oh dear lord no it doesn't. I'm pro-choice. I would rather the mother keep the baby, but under certain circumstances, it can become dangerous. What if childbirth will kill the mother, or the baby won't be born alive for whatever reason? What if the girl was raped, and she can't have that baby in her uterus because it gives her such mental distress? And up to the end of the first trimester, the fetus can't even feel anything. It would be nice to keep the children alive, but in some cases, it just causes more distress.

I'm pro-life, but I respect your opinion. I do understand that abortion is necessary in some cases.

The only reason I am pro-choice is because of the reasons the anonymous person gave and the fact that, if abortion wasn't legal, women would still find ways to get abortions if they want them. It would be way more dangerous. But, that said, I personally can/will never get an abortion. I think it's wrong and I don't understand it except for in those cases.

so just because they could find a way to do it doesn't mean we should make it legal. Should we make murder legal because people are going to do it anyways? What about illegal drugs?

you , op , are beautiful (: i hate when i try to explain this to people & theyre like "oh so you WANT the baby to die ?!" so annoying -_-

I'm 15. I want to be pro-life but if I became pregnant I suspect I would change my mind. It's a woman's body and a woman's choice. If the fetus can't live outside the parent, then it's not alive. Forcing a woman to have rapidly growing cells (yes, I am comparing a fetus to cancer) growing inside her is just as bad if not worse in a way than footbinding, which, if the law changes, both situation women don't get a choice. Also, honestly, would you rather have a child not exist, or go into a home full of drugs and abusive family? Some people can't support babies, and I think that it's better to abort a pregnancy than to put it into a family that can't support or will abuse it. Plus, it's a woman's body, and men shouldn't get a say in abortion laws.
