+621 It's weird that the lyrics for the Perry the Platypus song say "HE'S a semi-aquatic EGG-LAYING mammal of action. When did males start laying eggs, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How did I never notice that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seahorses. That is all I have to say.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually the female lays the eggs on the male's belly. He is just the one who gives birth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow...I COMPLETELY did not catch that. XDXD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Since when do mammals lay eggs?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only two mammals lay eggs. The platypus and the echidna.

i read the post wrong by accident. i thot u said when did mammals started laying eggs. can i change that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

platapuses r the only mammals that lay eggs retard

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the song is just refering to the species in general. Not just Perry in particular.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, the species in general.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not saying he lays eggs, it's saying he's an egg-laying mammal.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Egg-Laying, as in he lays the egg, not actually LAYS as in gives birth to it...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hooray for ignorant people who insult others! But no, you are really stupid, echidnas are also mammals, and they also lay eggs. 6th grade science class, Internet research, and common sense would have stopped you from posting that, but I love seeing people make fools of themselves.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I thought Kiwis were also one of the egg-laying mammals O.o

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He's a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action He's a furry little flatfoot who never flinched from affray, He's got more than just mad skill, He's got a beaver tail and bill, And the women swoon whenever they hear him say: *platypus sound* He's Perry, Perry the Platypus! Major Monogram: But you can call him Agent P. He's Perry! Major Monogram: I said you can call him Agent P! Agent P!

how do we know that females lay eggs like did someone have enough time to watch every animal procreate and watch for who lays the egg[s]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think they googled it. And i also think that someone did actually have enough time on their hands to do that. But i also think that it was their job to do that. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hey yeah, good point :D but isnt the defining characteristic of a female is that they have the offspring? like most in species the guys and girls are almost exactly the same except the females lay eggs or birth the babies or whatever :P
