My maths teacher answered "Never" to that question. I thought that was a pretty good answer.

We're in the same boat pal

My math teacher says that too. He tells us that we just have to deal with things we don't want to do. He also made cutting down trees into a positive way. We all knew he was talking bullshit though.

My geometry teacher had a chart of which Jobs you would use specific stuff in. "Math teacher" was a big one.

Depends on the subject. You'll probably never use advanced math unless it's your job to write the textbook. But you'll use what you learn in history and English way more often. Advanced science is pretty much useless unless you become a scientist.

"You're using it right now."

You will use this when/if you get an A in the class & it gets you into a good college
Even if you don't use that math specifically, it exercised your brain, makes it stronger & clearer.
Stuff like history helps you learn from peoples mistakes & in the future when its appreciated, you'll sound smart & opinionated for your date (: PLUS, its a respect thing, thats why you learn it

My teacher just simply said: You won't.

My math teacher said we'd need it on our homework. Haven't heard a better answer since.

My math teacher (I forget what the chapter was that week) lost it after the third time it was asked. She gave vague stupid answers to "when will we use this?" the first couple times. Then the third day of that chapter "when will we use this?" her response "IVE ALREADY ANSWERED THIS QUESTION TOO MANY TIMES IN BOTH OF MY CLASSES! (only two classes for that math) NEXT PERSON TO ASK GETS DETENTION!!!"

You'll use it to help your kids with their homework, and then they'll help their kids, and it will be a neverending cycle until math no longer exists or everyone understands it magically.

I always asked my 8th grade Algebra teacher that, so she started to explain it with her lesson everyday, which in the end led to more work. I learned to STFU about it.
