There's a part in one of my favorite books that makes a point about that. One of the main people is named Seth, he's 13. Someone is warning him that this is going to be a very dangerous mission. Seth tell's him he can handle it. The person sighs and says "You're young" Seth says "You're short." I really think people underestimate others a lot.
