+404 "The weight problems in our country are becoming increasingly high, we are trying our hardest to get find every solution we can." What about the solution of getting rid of the fast food resturants that are found on almost every street of the world? Amirite?

OR let people choose for themselves. that's stupid to think that shutting down fast food restaurants would solve all the problems, that would actually cause beyond thousands of losses of jobs. its not the fast food places that are making them fat, its their own choices. everything in moderation.

i agree with you, theres alot unhealthy shit in stores too-all the processed foods and shit

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it's their fat that's making them fat

That would cause a recession, in which the economy is so poor many people couldn't afford to buy clothing and food, making them thinner! You are totally right!

I'm so glad I have a "live and let live" philosophy. It must be exhausting looking for new and clever ways to make fun of fat people every day. I'd look for another way to make myself feel superior.

Obesity is the new smoking. It has become entirely socially acceptable to look down on fat people because the pervading view is that it's their fault that they have no sense of moderation. Elitism in this form with a pervasive judgemental overtone is unavoidable so long as people exist who are insecure and feel the need ti put down others for identifiable reasons to lessen the discomfort they feel about themselves, identifiable or otherwise. Summary: Haters gonna hate.

the fast food companies are some of the richest in the world and it would be virtually impossible to do that

Fast food restaurants are one of the main things americans love to buy. If we got rid of them, that would worsen our economy

I don't think it would be fair to get rid of fast food restaurants. It work put a lot of people out of the job. Plus it would be inconvienient for people who would like to go to the restaurants every once in a while when they are pressed for time. Also, everyone knows that fast food is bad for them, so they could make a choice to eat something healthier. I mean, the companies offer the nutrition information, as well as some healthier options like grilled chicken instead of fried and salads

No. My family eats fast food sometimes because we are sometimes in a rush, or my mom just doesn't feel like cooking. Fast food has been a lifesaver before school functions and whatnot. Plus, because there are so many restaurants, millions of people would lose their jobs. In just my town alone, there are 3 fast food restaurants. Fast food doesn't force a Big Mac down anyone's throat. It's just an option. How about lowering the price of healthy food? A lot of poor families get fast food because good food is pricey.

Good point on the prices. People can't just assume that people eating fast food are doing it because they're fat-_-

It's not what is available to eat that's making people fat, it's their excess consumption of food along with no exercise whatsoever. I lived off of McDonalds for a month or two while our kitchen was being redone, and I am active enough that I didn't gain a single pound.

I hear sitting on your ass playing Xbox 360 all day helps burn calories.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only in the northern hemisphere. Because of gravity the calories just drip right off

You can't just eliminate these restaurants. That will affect a lot of people in negative ways, i.e. the many employees. It is an individuals decision to make healthy choices, you can't just force them by taking away these restaurants. If it isn't their choice, it won't work. There are other ways to become obese you know.
