+35 protesters shoud get a life and go home...and STOP harming the police because they are the ones who are running to the danger when everybody else is running away. You never know when you need the police and here they are hurting them? thats wrong, amirite?

This post literally gave me stage 4 lung cancer.

I don't know where you are, I'm gonna down vote this because here in America, we have the right to assembly

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You have the right to peaceful assembly. Not harming cops. And it is fucked up to hurt the people who are protecting your city every night. Still, I voted down because this post is poorly worded and I'm still not solid on what OPs point it.

I downvoted because none of the protesters I've ever seen are harmful. Also, it kinda sounds like an angry sixth grader wrote this.

There //are// harmful protesters out there, but the way it's worded makes it sound like all protesters hurt police or that it's referring to a specific protest where the police were getting hurt. I agree is sounds like a 6th grade, especially the "they should just get a life" bit.

There are also cops who harm protestors, it goes both ways

by Anonymous 11 years ago

When cops harm protesters, it's usually a last resort, when protesters start damaging things, and for when it's for the greater good. But when the protesters start harming cops, nothing productive is coming out of it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_assembly Also lets not forget who has the weapons and power here. Also lets not forget that unless there are zombies protesting unfair cemetery conditions, protesters already have a life.

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/28/politics/28scotus.html I feel like this is important too..

The ellipses makes me think of someone giving a speech, beginning to walk away, and then coming back to angrily rant. It helps that the end of this post sounded like an angry rant.

I can suppot this if it's violent protesters, but peaceful protest? How is it "not having a life"? What is a BETTER thing to do with your life than try to change (percieved) injustices in your country? People who think politics is a waste of time drive me bonkers. This is important stuff! Also, the police are people. I respect what their principles are but they are still people - they are susceptible to prejudice and perpetuating inequality, injustice and harm. Just like everyone else. They should not be granted immunity from scrutiny and criticism.
