I always carry a handkerchief in my back pocket (opposite side from the wallet), and they are used for more than just blowing your nose. They can also be used for wiping sweat or dirt off your face, drying your hands, to wrap up small items to keep the together, or they can even be made into bandages if the situation calls for it. Obviously for some of these you'll want a clean one. Using them is also better for the environment than Kleenex or the paper towels in a bathroom. If you use one just to dry your hands it's also more sanitary than using an air dryer in a bathroom.
