That's pronoun-antecedent agreement, not subject-verb.

jeeeeeeez dont dislike someones stuff and comment on it cause of grammar... and you are right, we rescued my dog off the streets and he chose us just as much as we chose him :) (sorry if my grammar is wrong dude)
