+390 the black community is largely responsible for their own stereotyping and perceived racism, amirite?

Nigga, please.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Would you care to elaborate?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*Some of the black community.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Most of the black community..." I'm Black, and this is so true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Either way, they didn't say 'most', so they're including all. I don't "act" a stereotype or perpetuate/condone any type of racism, so why should I be blamed?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It should say most...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well take for instance how people black people are very loud obnoxious and quick to fight. They act this way (At least the ones where I live do). So they caused this stereotype. Or how *a lot* of them wear their pants all the way down past their butts. They caused that stereotype too.

Most stereotypes are based off something true, for example: Asians are smart, this is slightly true as there is more pressure on traditional Asian kids to do well in school and get a successful job, however not all of them are smart.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't blame it on a group of people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

By posting this amirite you're discriminating too.

Then by the same token, white Americans are largely responsible for their being stereotyped as fat, lazy, dumbasses. Seeing as most of them we see are fat lazy dumbasses? It doesn't matter how the thing started. It matters how we treat them because of the stereotype. Not all Americans are fat lazy dumbasses and not all black people are... whatever. See? Back at square one. That amirite post proved absolutely nothing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That amirite post *changed* absolutely nothing. It's purpose isn't to prove anything, but rather to get the idea out there that, since a lot of black people go around calling all white people racist and whatnot, they are actually the ones creating the idea in their minds that all white people are racist when in fact, most of them aren't. Just because the KKK consists of white people doesn't mean that all white people are racist. They choose to direct their anger towards all of the white people rather than those who deserve to receive it, making the innocent ones feel like complete shit because they are being called racist for just glancing at a black person or some bullshit like that.

Hey, don't get mad beacause someone is stating a fact. Lets face it, ALL races get stereotyped....not just blacks. I'm black, but I dob't find your post offensive at all. It's actually pretty true. Not all black people are like this, myself included.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The post was directed towards the black people who find every opportunity they can to call someone racist, make them feel bad and sorry (when they are really just trying to understand why they're being accused of such things when they have not a single racist thought in their minds), and therefore getting pity out of it to get free food and things like that. I hate to say it, but unfortunately it's true.

So my black father grew up in Memphis during the civil rights chaos. His mom was a maid at five. They had 14 children, and have never taken a cent from the government. My dad went on scholarship to MIT and he is now one of 12 literal rocket scientists. I go to Stanford on scholarship and just came back from working for Obama in the White House. So...false. It's not true that black people seek pity to leech off the government. My dad's tax bracket is so high that, as opposed to your assertion, he's actively supplying the government with money.

Most of the black American community may be responisble for their own stereotyping, but not the racism. Racism (in general. Not just against black people) is the fault of ignorant, closed minded people. And, if you think about, every racial/ ethnic group is responsible for their own stereotyping.
