The thermos keep cold things cold and hot things hot, but how does it know? amirite?

The space in between the inner edge and outer edge of the thermos flask is a vacuum; and the lid contains convection-repelling material. This means no heat can be obtained, and no heat can be lost; thus, the temperature of the drink is kept the same.
