Your point? Wouldn't you rather have a vest than nothing at all, knowing you might get shot in the chest?

Whats the point of having a vest if you just get shot in the face. The point is right there, If you get shot in the face to begin with, why bother with a vest?

Most people are trained to shoot at center mass, seeing as how the odds of getting a headshot are quite small. Thus the point of a bulletproof vest.

I can understand your point; bullet proof vests will be useless if we get shot in the face. However, you can neglect the point that it can protect a whole body from unwanted objects such as firearms and bombs. It acts as a wall between the bullet and body of the wearer. Since, I have been working as a security guard; I have to wear bulletproof vests during the work hours.
