+619 "My kid could get good grades if they wanted to; they just don't apply themselves properly!!!" Sometimes parents just need to cut the excuses and accept the fact that their kids are just academically stupid, amirite?

Old IQ tests went from "smart" to "average" to "stupid" to "retarded." It's true. Well, sorta.

sorta ;P

The worst one is parents who say 'My child is very intelligent, the teachers just don't understand him/her'

Ah, the things I could do with some incentive.

you could work 4 hours a day and still make 80,000 a year. how's that for incentive?

Some parents are right when they say that tho. I maintained a B average while spending most of the school year at the movies or having coffee. If I'd applied myself i could've been an A+ student. I can't have been the only one....

you weren't ;)

true, there are exceptions, but i feel like it's more of an excuse then anything

Honestly, I'm terrible at school. I've got a decent IQ, but school is just hard for me. My parents can't accept that and always say "You could get 100% in math if you tried." I TOTALLY know what you mean. Some parents need to accept that their kids won't do well.

exactly. it's not all about book smarts anyways. if i had to choose, i'd rather have street smarts then book smarts anyday. they're more useful
