+278 They need to reinvent the way science is taught because at the moment, it is quite inefficient. For instance, first they tell you that electrons orbit around the nucleus in circles. Then they tell that they actually don't go in circles by the funky shaped orbitals. Then they tell you that obritals don't really exist, its an imaginary path. amirite?

I actually have no idea what you're talking about, but I clicked YYA so people will think I did know, and that I'm smart.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hmm, so you want everyone to think you know, but you're announcing it to everyone that you actually don't, that just might be crazy enough to work, you're a genius my boy!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"that just might be crazy enough to work" That's pretty much my life's philosophy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Now THAT just might be crazy enough to work. Brilliant, keep 'em coming!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly! You would think that the direction of the conventional current in a circuit would be the direction that the electrons were going. But no, electron flow goes the opposite way as conventional current. WHY PHYSICS, WHY?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have a feeling you googled that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nope. Not this time.

Kudos:D

Common knowledge is common knowledge

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure it's not.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're wrong

by Anonymous 12 years ago

my name always fucks me over

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not mine, mine's always used for good! Because I bring ne'er do wells to justice, with my ass of kick!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just took a fat rip of salvia and I don't remember leaving this o.O

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh well then I bet you also don't remember promising to give me your credit card number, along with your social security number, full name, and date of birth?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No I don't remember promising I would, I take it back.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Darn, can't blame me for trying.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just realized if I was "yourewrong" the reply I made to your comment "you're wrong" would have made sense. That's probably what I was thinking, I was outa this world. I'm suprised I could type.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah I know, I thought you just changed your name.... until I realized youre wrong was still wrong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because the positive charge is flowing the other way. Current is just charge per time, which is coulumbs per second. This is why I think they should have made the electron positive and the proton negative.

This works for any subject. E.g., in English: all through elementary and middle school you learn about three-prong theses and five-paragraph essays. When you get to high school, your teachers order you not to write said essays on pain of death.

I've been thinking about this for a while actually, because right now we're entirely unlearning and relearning (but differently) everything we learnt just last year...and it seems just so incredibly inefficient. I understand dumbing stuff down (which I suppose this is to an extent), but if they're going to teach you something that is partially NOT correct, why teach it at all?
