+847 No, a gangster is actually a man from 1930's Chicago, involved in organized crime, NOT a guy who says "G" all the time, raps poorly and wears oversized clothes, bandannas and jewellery on his teeth, amirite?

A gangster is somebody who's in a gang. Modern gang members are "guys who says "G" all the time, raps poorly and wears oversized clothes, bandannas and jewellery on his teeth". Sad truth. But it IS the TRUTH.

I agree with this guy.

Yeahhhhhhhh... Al Capone would eat those fakers for a midnight snack.

Today's gangsters are nothing compared to the ones in the 30s: Al Capone carried around a Thompson in a voilin case, but today its usually a handgun or something

Gangster = Al Capone and organized crime of the 20's & 30's Gangsta = Modern dumbass kids who rap and wear retarded clothes/jewelry At least that's how I say/spell it so people can understand which I'm talking about.

Mello is both gangster and gangsta, amirite? <3

I agree with everyone differentiating between 'gangster' and 'gangsta'. I was going to say it, but I saw that others already had :) Great minds think alike, amirite?

Thank you for setting the record straight!

THANK YOU! I was thinking something like that just a couple of days ago...

I have always said this. A gangster is one involved in organized crime, a gangsta is an idiot who is going to get themselves shot eventually. Alternately, they're wannabe... I don't even know what. Modern impressions of gangsters, I suppose.
