I'm gonna start fighting this PCs thing. PCs are better than what, toasters? Bananas? What are PCs better than!?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Better than Macs. I saw no, but whatever. I enjoy using my Mac rather than PC

Are you saying that a Mac is not a Personal Computer?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

No, I'm not, as they are. But stereotypical-wise, you know, the Mac vs. PC commercials. HP, Dell, etc.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

yep Apple started everyone thinking that Macs are not PCs and now we gotta fight it!

I think we need to buy some TV ads.. we interrupt this broadcast to bring you an important public service announcement... Macs ARE PCs

Flamesuits on. I'm a Mac Man. Mac = Premium for fashion, unique OS. PC = Cheap, more unstable, but more useful. There are few Windows laptops that look as nice as Mac laptops, they all seem to have buttons and switches, panels of chrome or tacky plastic here and there.

My ultimate laptop would be a Macbook Pro with Windows 7. And in regards to stability, I have more Macs crash on me every week than Windows machines, and I don't even have a Mac at home. Anyway, I'm not here to argue the two. I'm just here to say that a Mac's a PC, and they should stop trying to tell it otherwise.

Windows has to cater to millions of different potential hardware combinations, and the effect is that it has more frequent, and serious software faults. Ryan, I've been using macs for about 6 years, and can't say I have ever had a Mac "Crash" on me. They hang sometimes, applications crash but the system itself is very sturdy. Windows 7 on the other hand, crashed on my first install, and has been fine after that. Its ok, a definite improvement, but it just seems too complicated. I have a MacBook Pro 13 unibody, and it is the best laptop i have ever used, size, weight, power, look is all right for me.

I love the Apple hardware, but I hate the Apple tax. And if you've used em for 6 years, you're lying if you've never seen one of these http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/showcase/data/43/Mac_Screen_of_Death-1p0f.png

Not on my own machines, and that's pre 10.5.7 As far as I'm concerned I will happily pay the tax, because Apple have a great business model. Mac's have a great resale value, I sold my iMac for only 200 pounds less than I bought it for. Trying to sell a similarly specced desktop for that retention would be a trial.
