+698 White people who claim that they truly don't notice when someone is black are full of it. It is not racist to notice that someone is black; it is racist to treat them differently because they are black, amirite?

I think it is not only white people. There are a lot of people who do that. It is unfair to say only white people do, but I understand your point.

Well I agree with this when it's strangers, but I can also understand if someone is talking about a friend of theirs, they might not notice they're black after a while. I don't know about other people, but with my friends I don't notice if they're pretty or ugly, big or little because at some point they've just become "my friend" and not that ______ person. Like their personality is masking it or something. I don't know if that makes sense. . .

there's a difference between not noticing and not thinking about it... unless your friend is unbelievably ugly, you will eventually stop thinking about the way he/she looks. skin colour doesn't matter.

i really just don't think about it, unless they're annoyingly, stereotypically black. I only really notice asians and bosnians, because they're the minority here.

I agree. It's almost impossible not to notice. It's like noticing your friend has red hair or blue eyes. You just can't treat them differently.
