+700 It's sad that our parents will die . Yes, it will happen. The secret is we should grab this given opportunity of being with them. Be corteous. Honor them. Say and make them feel you love them. Do simple things for them. How about making them a cup of coffee?! Make them feel you're proud of them.. And please don't do anything that would break their heart. Because when they're gone, they're gone... amirite?

I don't respect my dad. he abused my family. in more ways than one. Its hard not to get mad at him. We fight all the time. you can't really tell someone to respect their parents where you don't where they are coming from. This is a nice post though. I wish i had parents like that.

me too. A quote i like is "happy familes are happy the same way. Sad families are sad in different ways" so although I don't know your situation, I can relate in the fact that my dad has abused my family and we're tired of it

This post makes me depressed :(

I love this post. It's true, one day they'll have to leave and it sucks.

What's sadder is, sometimes the kids go before the parents, and they never get a chance to make them proud.

awwww...

I feel like I'm the only person I know who spends quality time with their parents. My mom had a cancer scare about 5 years ago and ever since then, I don't mind being seen with her in public. She's my best friend, regardless of the friends I have known since elementary school. =)

:( when i was a little kid i'd always cry whenever i thought of my parents dying. i'd imagine the funeral and how me and my brother were left all alone. i wasn't even in school, then. i always had to think of a joke to take my mind off it

I was planning on being happy today, but this is going to haunt my mind forever : (

Which is why I always get up to tell my parents goodbye before they go to work ..

Me too. Often when my mother leaves the house the scary thought: "This could be the last time I ever see her goes thougth my mind, and I get up to say goodbye"
