+617 JK Rowling killed off all of her best characters, amirite?

I was hurt after Fred. Like, hurt in the way that I would be hurt if my fish died.

Ugh, my absolutely favorite character (not saying who just in case someone hasn't read it) was killed in the last book. It was during the final battle and I remember the line described him looking like he was sleeping, and I skimmed over it, assuming he literally was sleeping. But when it was pointed out he was dead later on, when Harry had the Resurrection Stone, I was like NO! D: It was so horrifying.

I think I know who you were talking about, and I think I did that too. Plus, sorry for being an ass to those reading the comments and revealing the death of Fred, but what did you expect the comments for this to be if you didn't read the books?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good point. And there's no need to apologize to me, I don't mind what you say. Fred's death hit my hard too. Mostly because I wondered how George would feel. You always hear about how, when one twin dies, the other feels like they're missing their other half. And those two were best friends. Jeez, it must have been rough for that poor guy.

Probably so she didn't have anything to write about anymore.

6 of my 7 favorite characters died over the course of the series. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONY :'( :'( :'(

I found a somewhat stupid excuse to be upset over Cedric's death: If Cedric hadn't died, then Robert Pattinson wouldn't have to go become a sparklypoo princess not-a-real-vampire (no offense Twilight fans, my best friend likes Twilight, she just isn't obsessed.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree, but I think all the deaths were necessary in order to fully describe the tragedy that was left for everyone else to deal with. without pain,we would have no compassion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. She could have easily killed off characters that weren't MAIN characters. Or at least strayed away from ALL OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

aiight someone please post a list of the people who died..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rowling had the characters die so we would feel what it felt like during the first wizarding war

RIP Fred!

Remember when harry and ron had sex on a quiddich broom?!!!! And then malfoy and a BOY?!!!!!

The best authors know when someone should die. Unlike SOMEBODY I know. (*cough cough* Stephenie Meyer)

supernigger, that was my absolute favorite... lolfag.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wish they hadn't killed Voldemort...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Harry's owl was my favorite character, next to dobby. so my two favorite characters died. D:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes, but we love the books anyway, right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, BUT at least she's willing to sacrifice beloved characters to add more to the plot and to give a damn good fight/war. RIP ALL MY BELOVED HARRY POTTER CHARACTERS - may your souls rest in peace... or at least at Mars with Rumbie just like Dumbledore xP -xoxo

My favourite character was Ginny. So, she came out good. But, I did like Dobby. Poor little Dobby.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm never forgiving her for killing Sirius. No matter what it did for the plot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was most upset about Dobby's death, and I almost cried when I read the passage comparing Dobby's tiny funeral to Dumbledore's impressive one.

I have a long list of favorites...which i'm about to list so don't read if you don't want to know...and she killed off most of them. RIP Dumbledore, Mad-Eye, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Sirius, Lupin, and Tonks. It's like JK Rowling wanted Harry to feel lonely or something...she killed off both of his parents, and then his godfather, and then Lupin. All he has left is his friends and the Weasleys...which are still good, but seriously.

I think we're all forgetting someone very important who died: The Half-Blood Prince. :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I miss the Dark Lord. RIP Uncle Voldemort..;)

Im surprized only one person mentioned snape. his character had the most to it, making him the BEST :'(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I will never, ever forgive her for killing Fred.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not sorry for Snape. Even though he was good he was still a douche to Harry and all Gryffindors

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not ALL of my favorite characters. Of the ones she killed, Dumbledore, Dobby, Fred, Snape, and Lupin were the hardest for me. However, I really like Ron, Hermione, Luna, and Neville, and they all survived, so I'm still a (relatively) happy camper.

We are talking about Harry Potter, right? I believe Hermione is one of her best characters. Molly, Arthur, Ron and Ginny too. Harry too. Anyway, her deaths all have a meaning behind. Just because you win a are, it doesn't mean it would be a complete happy ending.
