Why is it called sloppy Joe? I mean, why isn't sloppy John or sloppy Steve or something?, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Because if it was named sloppy Steve people would ask why it's not called sloppy Joe.
by Anonymous13 years ago
well, sloppy John sounds like a really gross public bathroom

Perhaps the man who invented it was named Joe.

Hahaha true, true.

Probably had to do with soldiers.
Coffee became known as "Cup o' Joe" because of soldiers (GI Joe for those of you who hadn't figured that out yet).

It's named after the guy who opened a bar in an open lot one night because the bar he was out was gonna close. He and a large group of men got the tables and chairs and drinks and moved them down the block to a nearby lot. It's since been moved again and built even larger. It's in Key West

It should be called "sloppy Pedo_Bear" Because I never clean up my mess after I do my business with the kids! Oh wait, you're talking about the hamburgers... pretend I never said anything.
