Why do employers not hire you if you have tattoos/piercings? It's not like they hinder your ability to get a job done, amirite?

I guess it depends on what you have, cus you can have some and it wont be a problem-it does suck that people have to be so judgmental though in this day in age where tattoos are more accepted and people are getting beautiful artwork on themselves instead of lame shit

When I was in the emergency room, there was a male nurse with a lot of tattoos and piercings, but he's the nicest person I've ever met. Even though I only saw him for a few minutes, he spoke softly to me, handled my arm gently, and was the kindest, softest person in the world.

I think they do it because of the image they want to have in their store. I mean when you think about it, lets say you have a little baby and he is majorly sick, who will you trust more to ensure he is taken care of? A guy tatted up with piercings all over or a doctor who looks professional? Its about the people they want to represent their business. People judge by appearances so they want people to look decent so customers will come back

It boils down to this. I don't care what you guys think. First, having a small tattoo (like a butterfly) on your upper thigh shouldn't prevent u from getting a job. but if you look like Picasso went wild on you, then you made a bad decision, and u shouldn't be hired because no one wants to deal with someone who feels like they represent themselves through "How they look" which is more retarded than sarah palins baby. So fuck the guys/girls who think just cuz they have more ink on them than my tax papers doesn't mean people should judge them

Some employers don't mind, I work in an office and on front reception. I have facial piercings and when I was hired I had pink hair.
