+711 Intro + 2(Verse + [Pre-chorus] + Chorus) + Bridge/Guitar-solo + Chorus = almost every song on the radio today, amirite?

I doubt that if you listened to 5 songs that 4 of them would follow this form.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I bet you 9 out of 10 songs do, at least.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I doubt that any of today's music has a guitar solo. It's all just a 3-4 minute deafening montage.

1) That's why I said Bridge/Guitar solo 2) There are more guitar solos than you think.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ohh i misread and thought that meant bridge then guitar solo, not bridge or guitar solo. My bad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's all good.

Not that there's anything wrong with that except that format is overused... I do like a little variation though. I listen mainly to bands like Mnemic and Sybreed, which don't often follow that pattern.

What's wrong with a song having form?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nothing's wrong. It just gets a bit predictable when almost every song uses the same form.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey, you do realize that the original Pokemon theme song follows this form. Just because it has the same structure as almost every other song doesn't mean that it isn't AWESOME!

I really hate when really, really upbeat songs have a slow bridge. (Not that I listen to this song or music like this) Tik Tok is one example. Her song is all about partying and getting drunk, then she sings a few lines about love. It's stupid.

It's called the ABBA format, section A, then two B sections, then finish it out with another A, by far the most common musical form since the turn of the century. That's where the band got their name.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nah, that's not the same form. The one I referenced is closer to ABABCB

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So? Some people dont care as long as they like the song.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually most people dont.
