Sometimes artists will arrange the music so something you hear in your left ear will not be the same as something you hear in your right ear, it makes the expirience of listening with headphones that much better. :P

Wouldn't it sound the same just opposite if you wore them in different ears? If that is true why aren't all headphones labeled?

all headphones should be labelled with a left and right. the thing about the reverse is that certain instruments are meant to be received by certain parts of your mind, which is the reason they are solely sent through one ear piece. if, for example, you listen to rock music with your headphones reversed, the drums beating in your left ear will feel very wrong, and will overplay the song itself.

The left earphone is not the same as the right: they are mirror images of each other. The left fits better in the left ear, and via-versa with the right.

Yeah, but I have a pair of headphones that are labeled, and since they go over your ears, I don't really see the point.

I failed so hard I homepaged. How great This was like my first post though and hey a year later I even disagree with myself, i cannot put the L earphone into my right ear. That's unacceptable.
