The hot-cold air collision is a tornado. My dad told me thunder is when the lightning splits the air and the thunder is air rushing to fill it. That's why you only hear thunder AFTER lightning strikes.

Is this a joke?

i no where thunder comes from. my sister did tht so i can get a lower average score.

It's when hot and cold air collide, it makes a big boom. Otherwise known as thunder. It's not rocket science....
