+221 Its annoying when your teachers make you write letters to your future self. But then when you receive them, its awesome. amirite?

i was thinking, my teacher made me do that when i was in 8th grade, to be sent to us when we're 30. Statistically, one of all of his students will probably kick the bucket before theyre 30. What a horrible reminder thatd be to their families, amirite? Like, "they were so full of hopes for the future and now theyre dead!" :(((( sad. right?

Five years ago, my English teacher got us to do this, to be given back when we finished at the school, but she refused to take mine in because 'I probably wouldn't understand it in five years' time.' Well, a month ago I found it in my old English notebook, and guess what? It made perfect sense to me.

Why wouldn't you understand it?

It had quite a lot of inside jokes and references to stuff my friends and I were doing at the time.

There's a website that lets you send emails to the future, which is pretty cool. A year ago I got one from seventh grade.

futureme.org! ^-^ every birthday, I write an email to be recieved on the next birthday. It's pretty cool. I'm sort of afraid to make a big leap ahead and send something really into the future, like 20 years, because I'm always scared I'll be using a different email address or something by that time.

That's cool! And yeah, I always worry about the same thing. I sent one on December 31, 2011 to December 31, 2012 but I don't remember if I changed my email address before or after I sent it.
