+545 If two kids have peanut allergies, the other 1,000 people in the school shouldn't have to abide by a bunch of new rules just to accompany them, amirite?

Can't people with peanut allergies get an reaction by simply being near peanuts though?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yep

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't see why it's just peanut allergies that get the special treatment though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

most foods is when you eat them. If I ate peanuts and shook hands with someone allergic, chances are he'll get a reaction.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

U Could have peanut butter on your breath and if you got too close to this one girl i know she could swell up and die.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Did you mean accommodate instead of accompany? Accompany just doesn't seem to fit...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're right; I had a brain fart.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They should open up a school just for peanut allergy kids x)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but thats horrible! just because they have an allergy doesnt mean they should be seperated from everyone else!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

someone has peanut allergies :o and is joking I hope(?), because I was

You have got to be kidding me. Seriously, why would you want to make all these kids go to a freaking different school just because you want to eat peanuts?!? They're humans and they have rights. This pisses me off SO F-ING MUCH!!!!!!!

They're peanut hating freaks. That's not human.

One kid at my high school was allergic to latex, so the whole school had to get a special kind of pencil with latex-free erasers. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i am allergic to peanuts-its worse than other types of allergies-i know cause im also allergic to eggs and milk-and also they need those rules because we could actually die

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my school has rules against it. It's just that we can only eat peanut stuff in the cafeterias, and we're supposed to wash our hands after we eat it. but that's it. I think it's fair.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I saw a show on tyra that a girl was alergic to water O.o

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's annoying, sure, but better than making 2 kids go in to anaphylactic shock and die.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There was a person in my school who had a slight allergy for rubber and stuff, cause of it we could have a whole bunch of stuff in the school, balloons come to mind. Thankfully he is gone now.

I can't BELIEVE that the majority of people agreed to this post. So are you saying that we should risk the lives of others all in the name of peanuts? That's rediculous. Others safety is worth the inconvenience. If it was your kid or you with the peanut allergy you would be happy the school was being so accomodating.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is exactly what I'm saying. Are you saying peanuts aren't worth the risk?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can understand that, but I dont get why its just for peanuts. I mean, I, at least, am severely allergic to latex and fruit, but those are both brought to school every day, nobody at my school is allergic to peanuts, yet we can't have peanut products.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Untrue. If you ever have a child with a peanut allergy and the school decided not to accomodate them, you would most likely be angry because your child could die. Think about that! Many schools are taking a huge risk simply by letting allergic kids sit in the cafeteria! One mistake, one hand-shake or high-five, even speaking to someone with peanuts in their breath could KILL them!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What if all your child ate was peanut butter sandwiches? I was like that and I just sat there. Now I'm anorexic. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are other ways of preventing those 2 kids from getting a severe reaction. Hand sanitizer and mints.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh wow it's so terrible to change your eating habits just a tiny bit to prevent the DEATH of someone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd prefer if they had a seperate room for either the people who brought peanut products to eat them-at least then you could have it every now and then and, if you clean up after yourself/wash your hands/etc., I don't think it would be AS much of an issue(I don't think this should be done, just like if it becomes that much of a problem with other students). At my school at least, they seriously need to start thinking about latex allergies. I can't even go into our computer lab(all of the keyboards and crap have latex covers) and I can't participate in anything with gloves, yet for every party they still have all the latex balloons and decorations so I can't participate.
