+225 People who read books and then get offended by the movie shouldn't. You all know it won't be the same and yet you go in with an epic sense of doom like the world is about to end. Give it a chance! And heave forbid someone who hasn't read the book actually likes the movie. Yes we get it! The book was better. That doesn't mean you have to give the movie crap every times it's brought up! amirite?

No country for old men is exactly the same as the book.

That book is so gooooooooood l never seen the movie though.

Well they're pretty much exactly the same. Only differences I noticed were that the part near the beginning when Moss brings water to the dead drug dealer guy is slightly different in the movie and The sheriff doesn't talk as much about his father in the movie. Other then that, they pretty much used the book as a script for the movie.

I haven't read the book, but if it's anything like the movie then I think I should.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You definitely should.

Heave forbid indeed!

I didn't even notice the typo until just then, and it took me forever to find it when I looked at it the second time.

When I finished school I made a vow that I'd never read a book again.

It's like when all the Harry Potter fans got all upset over DH2 not following the book exactly... I mean they had 7 movies to figure out that the movie was not going to be exactly like the book.

Especially since Deathly Hallows was a great movie on its own, not to mention pretty damned close to the book. They can't fit EVERYTHING into the movie, especially things that Harry was thinking/feeling, or things that are otherwise difficult to portray on screen, so as long as they can fit all major and most minor plot points into an entertaining and well-directed movie, then I don't see why anyone needs to complain.

Cirque Du Freak and Beastly were awful.

As I've dabbled in movie making myself, I do not blame the producers at all when it turns out differently. Sometimes, the book takes a path that would be impossible to put in visual form using resources available.

An exception is Fight Club, the author said he thought the movie was an improvement.

Unless it's Percy Jackson. The plot for that movie was so different and screwed up that it will be nearly impossible to make the next one.

Same with the Series of Unfortunate Events though I know that was forever ago.
