well, it's actually spelled appalling. and if you're saying that black people nowadays are stronger or whatever because their ancesters were slaves, thats not possible. Strength is obtained through work, not genetics.

Slave owners bred the best workers together, and the slave population as a whole eventually was able to work longer then they would have been otherwise.

Could be correlation, not causation. Whips, dogs, and fear are pretty good motivators to work hard, and that ethic could become instilled in the culture of black people. If that's the case, then it's possible that athletic black people were taught that ethic by their parents.

Well a lot of black athletes are marathon runners, in which case slow twitch muscles are just as relevant. I don't think it's fair u've given all the credit to the fast twitch =[

Just because so many people are clearly misinformed, I'll paraphrase a section of an article I read from Sports Illustrated: There are so many more black athletes because there is more variation in the black genome. This means the best and worst athletes in the world are of African descent. This greater variation was caused when small groups of nomads left Africa and started their own colonies in Europe, Asia and such. The groups were so small it didn't allow for much genetic variation so whites, Asians, and hispanics will tend to be more average, while blacks have a greater spectrum of possibilities.
