+888 There was a time in elementary school (maybe even now) when if there was a read a loud done in class, and if there was a name in the writing of someone who was in the class, everyone would turn and look at that person, amirite?

I hate when that happens because my name is so common

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Me too. And I have the name that you can make fun of the most >____>

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What's your name, if you don't mind me asking...?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm sorry, I'm probably just not understanding the wording, but what? "A read a loud" of what? "Name in writing" where?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Like you are in English class and you read, "And then Bob did ___" and there is someone in your class named Bob everyone looks at Bob.

Wow, my explanation was way more...intricate than it needed to be :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Umm...(Let's say your name is Beth.) like if your teacher was reading a book out loud to you, and the book said "Jane went to meet her friend Beth!" All the kids would turn and look at you? ...Make sense? :/

Only, all the textbooks fail and try to put in multicultural names like 'Amir,' 'Yolanda,' 'Annabelle,' and 'Sav' not the generic ones we all have.

Hahahahhaha I know! And it's all like..."Damn, we don't have a Laquisha in our class :/"

We had to write stuff and I used the name of a girl in my class without knowing it (which was sad, because there were about 7 people in that class), and everyone thought I was talking about her.
