+429 pessimist:a person that looks both ways before crossing a one way street, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I tend to think of it as making sure some moron isn't driving the wrong way on that one way street. That has happened to me before and besides, it's a habit to look both ways. But fun post.

Ha. You'd look both ways if you lived in my town

Damn near every time I've been anywhere with one way streets I've seen at least one idiot going the wrong way. But really, take an extra half second to look the other way? Or possibly get hit by a car...hmm.

Funny, but it's called being a realist.

I do it out of habit :P

How is that a pessimistic action? I don't get what's pessimistic about that. It's more like being careful...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its because a pessimist would obviously expect the worst, in which someone would go down the street the wrong way at the same time as you cross it, causing a very harmful collision. Yeah, they expect that to happen. Psh, i don't get it either. :DD

This is more neurotic than pessimistic, if you ask me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Maddie Mary): Yeah, I was going to say that it's more paranoid than anything. But, still funny.

I do this when I drive, but I'm really paranoid that the 1st time that I don't do this, I'll collide head-on with some drunk moron who's going the wrong way on a one-way street. So I will continue to do this.

You have clearly never been to Lawrence, Kansas, where some drunk college kids just totally blitzed down a one way going the wrong way. Not looking both ways seems to be representative behavior of a future Darwin Award winner.
