I got excited when my town newspaper featured an article on something my graduating class did that (//really//) upset the principal.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What did you do?

It was spirit week, and in my school, the seniors always change the theme the school picks, this year we picked beach wear for wednesday. One kid brought a kayak and kayaked down the halls to his classes, two hundred people (there's 450 people in my grade) were blowing whistles, between classes, my whole graduating class met up in the atrium and had a "beach party", and someone accidentally squirted water on the principal. That resulted in him taking away our pep rally and almost taking away the homecoming dance. He completely overreacted though, and lied to the town newspaper saying that the autistic kids got scared by the loud noises (1- they are all the way on the other side of school, and 2-they go to the pep rally. They can handle loud noises), saying that the Lehigh rep got scared and had to be escorted out (how does a grown adult get scared by whistles?), and saying that "for the past 3 days, the senior class caused tremendous disturbances during school hours". Monday was wall street day: no loud noises/disturbances. Tuesday was Wimbledom day: no disturbances.

Wednesday was beach wear: a little disturbance. I don't know about you, but 5 minutes for 3 days does not translate into 7 hours for 3 days. He also said we did this when we supposed to be in class. We did it in between classes. It was hilarious when it was front page news here though. Just goes to show how exciting my town is. I mean, it gets loud and obnoxious, but come on, it's spirit week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GxVPXK9hHd8

I get excited when I meet somebody on the internet that lives in Minnesota.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Same, but Oklahoma.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Noticed you go to Oklahoma State. I could have seen you once. o.o

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You do HvZ?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Same, but in the NWT in Canada. Joking, that's never happened.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're right. It's Canada, which Americans lump together as a state.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ditto. : D

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm from Minnesota..

The only time my area got a documentary(montgomery county, next to DC) was when a sniper started shooting and killing random people from the back of a car... So I don't get excited when i saw that. He shot a kid.

I live in Houston. we're _never_ in the news. Even Clear lake, my part of Houston, has never really been mentioned on Houston news scence the Tom Delay scandal!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, but not always because sometimes it makes our town look like some sort of place where a bunch of hicks live.

My football team was recently on national news we only have about 300 kids in our school

My town invented the Tuxedo! We were on the news yesterday for its 150 year anniversary... well I guess really just mentioned on the news.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They also filmed a movie with Morgan Freeman and directed by Rob Reiner. THAT was a HUGE deal.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My town is where they filmed Famous in a small town by Miranda Lambert. They used our school too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not at all. Nothing good ever happens in Ohio. Especially Cleveland. I cannot wait to get out of Cleveland.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I live in Cleveland too!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I live in NYC. It's not really that exciting.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I live in a town where we all pretty much survive on the one store we have; Walmart.

Fox news did a whole story on my middle school because two kids got in a fight. There wasn't even any weapons involved and no one got seriously injured, they blew it way out of proportion.
