You don't understand why music notes are named after the alphabet, and you really don't understand why the notes are named after A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Why not T ,U, V, W, X, Y, and Z, amirite?

I think it's just because there are only so many pitches that exist for our human ears.

No, not that the pitches are different, just that someone decided a note would be called A, not Z.
