Oh, man. I do that to people all the time. I'm not trying to be demeaning to me it's just a nickname/pet name like hun or babe but less creepy. I'll keep this in mind.

Aha, I call people who are older than me kids all the time. Like "He's a pretty cool kid" even if "he" is four years older, and an adult.
