+270 You've wondered how parents let their kids dye their hair green, purple, pink, etc. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually I wonder why someone would WANT to dye their hair green, purple, pink, etc.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, that too haha. But my mom barely let me put highlights in..imagine if I wanted a color :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is why I like being a guy. We don't have to deal with these hair problems.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha wellllll, if you look at my profile picture, you'll notice I don't have to either(: I still take care of my hair and all, but I don't really have to worry about it in public ♥ :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well I guess you don't either. I seriously don't get why people would want to dye their hair. I would hate to have to choose between 18 different shades of the color brown.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahahah omg you made me laugh. When my mom and I went to go buy the highlights and hair dye. She couldn't decide which brown to get :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The people who make hair dye must have nothing better to do than come up with different shades of the same color. Like someone is going to really be able to tell the difference.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, actually there is a difference. My mom wouldn't stop bugging me about which one she should get. Because on the back of the box, it shows a before and after picture and stuff like that >.<

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's why I'm glad I have 3 other sisters. No one goes to me for hair ideas 'cause I'm a guy and they know I don't give a shit.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha awwwwww, not cool!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What? I don't care that much.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its because my parents agreed that if they let me get it dyed pink, i have to show gratitude. and i do :D but i have to change it back or let it grow out when i turn a senior so i look good for college :]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, i dye the underneath part of my hair purple. it's my favorite color and my mom allows me to bc i've wanted to do it for a long time.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pffft, I've had every hair colour you can imagine. I started dying my hair blue in the fifth grade. And my mum's okay with it, because she understands that it's important to express yourself. I'm a girl, and I currently have a purple mohawk.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Heh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@427216 (Anonymous): I've been dying my hair blue every summer since I was in fifth class as well, this summer it's electric blue and purple. I don't see what the big deal is though, I don't go around telling other girls that they shouldn't bleach their hair or put highlights in it so they shouldn't tell me not to dye it =/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well I dyed my hair when I was 17. I also looked good with the weird colors like blue purple pink etc. I found it to be an enjoyable expression of my quirky personality and it fit me well. Since then I've grown it all out and I'm back to my natural colour.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The kids either don't tell their parents they are doing it (I know a few people who've done that) or like my mother don't give one and think it suits me. I don't see anything wrong with dying hair the thousands of shades of blonde, red, brown and god knows what else is natural so why be stuck up about colours not natural? I mean, bleached totally white isn't natural on a young lady to me, yet this argument to my school "some are born like that" meant those girls could dye their hair that colour and a few bright neon red yet my own shade of hair colour only through a couple parts and pretty subtle wasn't allowed. Thank god I'm going to a collage with no rules on such things! I've had bright blue, green, red and orange in my hair, I'm onto pink and purple next. I like it so why not right? ^_^

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have my natural black hair now, when Im 18, I wanna to have pink streaks :) Think It's a good idea?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've had my hair pink, purple, blue, and red. My parents let me dye it because the way they see it, it's just hair and it'll grow back.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My parents say it's my hair and I can do what I want with it. I haven't put any un-natural colors (pink, green, etc.) in my hair yet but I haven't seen my natural hair color in years. I like changing my looks and I don't think anyone has a problem with it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Now it's different if you're talking full head or just a streak. My mom's big on not dying hair until necessary, but she let me put a pink streak in my hair for the summer...it's really about whats good for you and what works

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my mom let me get purple streaks because i have been bugging for a long time. at first she was like "no no you'll look tacky." but now shes like "it's your hair what ever"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't see what's wrong with it. I have had every single unnatural colour in my hair. Nothing is wrong with it. It's hair. It grows back, colour doesn't last, and you could always re-dye it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've had practically every colour in my hair. I like to express myself that way, and my parents are perfectly okay with it. They even think it's cool. It's got nothing to do with them anyway, I like to change my look regularly, but that's just me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ive dyed my hair (the underneath part) hot pink. i think it shows how someone can have more personality than normal colours. my mom let me, cuz it'll grow out, and its just hair. seriously. its not that bad. lmao. BUT i dont personally like the whole head a wacky colour either. but who's to say what looks good and what doesnt. its not like other people's hair effects you in ANY way. so if they wanna, why not?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I like change. I've had a couple un-natural colours in my hair. I currently have purple and pink in it. But, in the past I've had orange and I've had a fire engine red in my hair too. It's fun. As long as it's done tastefully, I don't see why not! It's just hair.. it'll grow back into your natural colour soon.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My grandma told my step mom when she was younger that she could do whatever she wants with her hair since it grows back, but no piercings or tattoos. My step mom no longer dyes her hair (it's back to brown), she has 3 tattoos, and multiple piercings.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually, no. I don't wonder at all. Considering my mom was perfectly fine, in fact she was the one who mentioned it to me, about getting some blue in my hair. And it looks pretty. So, maybe the parents who don't let kids do that are just..not accepting, or something like that. Hmm.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol calm down. I wasn't trying to be offensive

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm young (under 15) and my mother took about a week of convincing but now I am perfectly happy with my pink hair. I think it also helped that we didn't bleach it first.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My mom said the purple makes it easier to find me when I get lost.
