+371 It sad how American people go out of the country to adopt kids but we have plenty of kids in need of homes right in america, amirite?

It's sad how some people are so desperate to get pregnant when there are so many kids all over the world that need homes.

How is it particularly sad? I don't really see the problem. Children are children regardless of where they're from. Adopting, loving, and providing for a kid from any part of the world is not any less noble or wonderful than adopting a kid from America/your home country. Making the distinction is kind of idiotic.

Completely agree

Couldn't agree more.

(Kaye) Because shoving a child into a culture that is completely different then their own isn't very noble, it's called culture shock.

I've heard that it's way easier to adopt a child from out of the country than in our country but I'm not so sure why. Also I've heard adoption in the states takes a LONG time so many become foster parents. For example a family friend was going to adopt a little boy from the states and just as the adoption process was almost complete, they took the child from her because "the mother wanted him back" and the mother was a stripper with eight other children.
