you don't know why people don't like country music. it's actually pretty good, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Even though I love rock a hell of a lot more, I would choose Country over the shit that is Rap and Pop any day.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Amen
by Anonymous13 years ago
I so agree
by Anonymous13 years ago
Country is thE best

by Anonymous13 years ago

by Anonymous13 years ago
taylor swift isnt real country music and shes sooo annoying and WAY overplayed
by Anonymous13 years ago
her best songs are the ones are aren't played on the radio, my favorite songs by taylor swift have low popularity on itunes but they're great songs.

by Anonymous13 years ago
No offense to country fans,
but I find it really annoying.
Some of it's good though.
But the "stereotypical" or "cliche" stuff, with banjos and what not, well.. it bugs the hell out of me.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You're thinking of more bluegrass and folk.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Also, Folk music is pretty epic
by Anonymous13 years ago
Indie and bluegrass are amazing as well.
by Anonymous13 years ago
For fuck's sake, no... country music is so whiny, so irritating... *shudder* Half of it is just pop music in cowboy boots now anyway; basically the same sound/songs, with a twang and a redneck gimmick. If you go way back there's some good stuff, like Johnny Cash. I also really like Pasty Cline; she's fun to sing along with. I'd rather enjoy the silence than hear any of the crap that comes out now, though.
by Anonymous13 years ago
yeah it's the new stuff I don't like. But hey, the old stuff still counts, and there is a lot to love there.
by Anonymous13 years ago
No country music uses banjos or whatever anymore so those who think only hillbillies down south listen to it just shut up!

Brad Paisley
by Anonymous13 years ago
A lot of artists (Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Sugar Land, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood etc.) are actually really good, and don't have a lot of "I lost my truck songs"
Brad Paisley, for example, has songs like Online, Celebrity and I'm Still A Guy that are comedic in a sense, but also songs like Letter To Me, To The World, and Then that are more heartfelt. None of them are your typical country. Not to mention he's a pretty good guitarist as well.
I'd rather listen to rock, but I like a little country once in a while.
by Anonymous13 years ago
lets not forget alan jackson
by Anonymous12 years ago
It depends. Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis? Yes. Taylor Swift? No.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My favorite era of country music was the 1950's-1970's. And Shania Twain 8D But the new country sucks. I work with a redneck and he says that him and a bunch of rednecks he knows hate the new country music, so they listen to heavy metal and classic rock instead. And old country music
by Anonymous13 years ago
I agree.
by Anonymous13 years ago
bet you 80% if the people who disagreed hate it because everyone else hates it, are too stubborn to listen to it, and stereotype it with hicks and homophobes. There's nothing wrong with a little variety. I'm a big metal head and I still say that country music isn't bad at all. Hell even dave mustaine said in his autobiography that he thought it was alright. But what are you gonna do, people don't like to be wrong and they don't like to change, so no doubt I'll get tons of negative responses.
Also, why are people complaining about repetetive meaning in lyrics? TONS of musical genres do it.
Pop: love
Classic Rock: Sex, more love, and rock
Rap: Cars, money, "bitches", arrogance, guns, so on...
Metal (Depending on the genre and decade): Death, fantasy, booze, road life, war, sex, love, massacre and gore, comedy
the list goes on. Some may be more varied than others but still pretty repetitive. I guess progressive is an exception.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I've listened to a HUGE variety of country, from very old to brand new stuff. As a general whole, I'm not a big fan. I don't mind it, but I hardly know more than a handful of songs that I like that are country.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Good for you?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Meh, Its not my preference at all.
but everyone likes different music, and its pointless to argue with people over an opinion.
by Anonymous13 years ago
right back at ya.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I listen to a lot of country music, and I must say, I have yet to hear a song about a guy losing his truck or his dog dying......so I don't get how people can say that that's the only thing country singers write about.
by Anonymous13 years ago
The chev got stuck and the ford got stuck, but the chev unstuck when the dodge showed up.
That's a pretty popular country song.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I don't discriminate against genres. That's stupid. It's something good in every genre, and if you don't think so you're not a real music lover, IMO.
It's not genres, it's certain singers' songs I don't like, for example, I don't like Hannah Montana, Taylor Swift, or Tim McCraw's music, but I do like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Cochrane, and Rascal Flatts. (:
by Anonymous13 years ago
It really depends on the artist, but yeah, there is some pretty good country music. (I have some on my iPod.)
by Anonymous13 years ago
She thinks my tractor is sexy.
by Anonymous13 years ago
LOL once I was at a pizza place and they were playing that song....
by Anonymous13 years ago
I really only like Johnny Cash, Keith Urban, some Carrie Underwood and Rascall Flats. I used to liek Taylor Swift before everyone knew her and her songs were nice and slow somewhat country, but when she got on the radio, they changed her songs to be like more upbeat and I just couldnt take it anymore.

i live in nashville, my school is in the middle of downtown nashville. i'm literally surrounded by it every single day of my life. thats probably why i hate it. that, and i hate how their voices are like, whiny. its weird, and kind of hard to explain.
by Anonymous13 years ago
whoaaaa country music is some of the best. at least it's about a story and not just three phrases sung over and over again like the rest of today's music. it has substance and melody and harmony. before you insult it you need to actually listen to it with an open mind.
by Anonymous13 years ago
not nice imo
by Anonymous8 years ago
I'll give it a chance. There are some pretty good country songs out there. I used to be onen of those people who said "Ew. I hate country." But...not anymore! I enjoy a little bit of everything.:)
