There's no need to ride a bike either. Or go to the moon. Or start a Bonsai garden. Or adopt a kitten. Or start a Swedish stereo company. Yet people seem to do these things, and the world keeps spinnin'.

"Bad" words are just words, most of which are quite versatile, and when used rather than as enhancers, "So I fuckin' told her to..." actually convey your idea, or message quite easily, "Fuck you dude;" a lot easier than "I do not enjoy the way you are treating me right now please proceed to cease such behavior." A "bad" word is taboo, but the words leg and breast were in the same situation only a few hundred years ago, no one gives a flying fuck if you say either anymore; in fact, breast is the SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE way to talk about the fat that is on someone's chest.
