Well I was raised Catholic and didn't even know that atheists existed when I was growing up. I literally thought that God was universally accepted and that it was proven that He existed. It wasn't until I was 10 or 11 that I realized that the whole idea was ridiculous and became an atheist. So, yeah, initially it's not their fault. It is their fault, however, when they are old enough to consider all the options and make their own decisions.
Uh yeah that was my point.
