When my dog was still a puppy, he escaped from his leash then ran down the street and he got ran over by a van. I was so devastated and thought he would die. Fortunately, he survived and is 6 years old now. So yeah, I could see your point.

I get that it's a joke so don't go all apeshit, but the biology major in me needs to point out that evolutionarily speaking, animals have had more time to adapt to natural phenomena than cars, that've only been around for a very short while in comparison

Animals can detect a change in air pressure preceding natural disasters. Cars do not cause a change in air pressure.
